The Maj. Gen. Irene Trowell-Harris Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc. is a chartered member of the National Tuskegee Airmen, Inc. operating in New York's Hudson Valley. The chapter is one of the engines that supports the Lee A. Archer Jr. Red Tail Youth Flying Program, which was created by our chapter to provide aviation training for middle and high school students. We have provided tuition assistance for graduating high school seniors in the Hudson Valley since 1998. The Trowell-Harris Chapter has granted over $300,000 in scholarships since then.
These outstanding graduates are presented their awards during our annual Tuition Assistance Gala Celebration, which is held on the first Saturday of every February. This is a night when we celebrate with the community the legacy of the World War II Tuskegee Airmen, highlighting how their wartime record motivates us to persevere, overcome and achieve in spite of any obstacles we may face. We are also proud to partner with the Red Tails in hosting our annual Willie Carter/Tuskegee Memorial Golf Classic.
We also share the rich history of these pioneering African American pilots and their support troops through presentations at schools, libraries, churches, civic groups and other organizations. Give us a call (845 838-7848) or complete the inquiry form. We would love to share with your organization. All donations are welcome and to make a donation please visit our donation page.
